Day 21 — Book Writing/Birthday Month

Okay, okay what is with

All the Rabbits.

I keep seeing them

Every where.

And this one made me

Laugh out loud

By myself on the sidewalk.

I think I stood there

For 10 minutes

And laughed.

In thinking about it more

One of my favorite paintings

Is a copy of the

Albrecht Dürer’s Young Hare

That my Mom had up in our

Living room growing up.

Which I got to see in person

Last Fall in the Albertina museum

In stunning Vienna.

I have been called the Energizer Bunny

For years.

So maybe they’ve been there

All along hiding in plain sight.

I looked up what rabbits

Mean if you are into all

That spirit animal

Symbolic rabbit meanings deal primarily with abundance, comfort, and vulnerability.

Traditionally, rabbits are associated with fertility, sentiment, desire, and procreation.

Rabbit meanings are also closely linked to the seasons,

the changes of Mother Earth, and specifically Springtime.

Tehahonhtané:ken, Rabbit is very sacred to Haudenosaunee and

Kanien’keha:ka culture as one of the tricksters.

She represents creativity and allowing the spirit to express itself.

(Bugs Bunny….)

Celtic myths tells us of the Goddess Eostre (from whom Easter gets its name),

a moon goddess associated with the reborn earth and fertility.

Each full moon Eostre became a Hare, and the Rabbit was her sacred animal.

Rabbit brings the lesson that you can only stand still in fear for so long,

and then there comes a time that you must jump into action and make your move.

Fair enough.

I like all that.

After writing this I saw another one today.

So it goes.

Maybe it’s all about forward motion

For me and for you.

Leaps forward.

I said a hip hop,

The hippie, the hippie,

To the hip, hip hop, and you don’t stop, a rock it

To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie,

To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat.

Now, what you hear is not a test

I’m rappin’ to the beat,

And me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet.

(props to the Sugarhill gang, of course…)

Thank you for giving that little heart below a nudge if you liked this. :)
