Invincible Summer

Day 2, 30-day #candleflame challenge.

“As essence turns to ocean,/the particles glisten./

Watch how in this candleflame instant/blaze all the moments you have lived.”

~Rumi

Invincible Summer.

Cupcakes.

We the Summer birthdays got cupcakes.

Yummy, swirly, sugary goodness.

Lumped all together.

We are one June, July, August.

I never cared.

I like sharing.

I love my Summer brethren.

Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo.

I am a Summer baby, a Summer girl.

There is something about the J months

I’ve always liked

January too.

The beginnings of a new year.

And the beginning of a hopefully another year on this planet.

As of July 18.

I found the card above today in a store.

I smiled when I read it

As I tend to swear a lot.

And I also love Albert Camus.

There were others as well.

The Shakespeare is what actually caught my eye.

“This above all: To thine own

fucking self be true.”

That quote without the “f word”

Was on my high school graduation announcement.

That one and the Camus.

Resonate.

“In the midst of winter I finally

Learned that there was in me

An invincible fucking summer.”

You’d be surprised

At how hard that is sometimes.

(to embrace ones invincible summer

And being true to yourself)

Even for a joyful, positive person like me.

It takes work just like everything else.

I meditate to clear space.

I breathe deep to find peace.

I write to remind myself.

I post to practice what I preach

I teach what I need to learn.

I seek people who inspire.

Because it’s easy to forget.

That we are invincible.

And to be true.

Maybe that’s why people make

Silly cards like those.

And why people buy them.

Reminders.

Sparks.

So,

Welcome

Invincible Fucking Summer,

As always, it is great to see you.

Looking forward to diving deep

Into you yet again.

All the way up, all the way down.

all along the analemma.
