Go with your gut they say.
I agree with this wholeheartedly.
In both business and in one's personal life.
The trust of your instincts is the culmination
of all of your subconscious memories
mixed with your street smarts or Spidey sense.
The more you listen the more you trust it
building on the experience
learning that is it something to truly guide you.
I think the issue is not having time or space to actually do the listening.
Or over analyzing something so much that you tune out the message.
I don't think I've ever regretted "going with my gut".
I have regretted not listen to it.
"I could kick myself for not listening to…"
I do like something my Dad turned me onto
the 10|10|10 rule
Will it matter in 10 minutes, 10 days, 10 months/years
Putting decisions and moments into that perspective
often gives me that "time-out" to listen to myself
and make a decision.
Not sending that rushed pissed off email.
Choosing to be kind instead of sassy.
Remembering that maybe it's not about me.
Trusting that the inner voice comes from developing that muscle.
That the inner voice is the marriage of two types of memories.
The things that are simply there with no effort
married to the stuff that we work hard to remember.
Those together equal "the gut".
The more we experience, the more we map logic and emotion
giving ourselves the emotional intelligence needed to make decisions.
Remembering that every action begins with thought.
So take a moment when you hear from your core.
Does your gut tell you to like this post?
Inquiring minds…. :)
