Day 11, June 2016, 30-day #bornwithwings writing challenge. Inspired by this excerpt of a poem by Rumi: "You were born with wings. You are not meant for crawling, so don't. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly."
Let it go.
I wrote a post on this day that was in response to someone that pissed me off over something silly.
I'm glad that I wrote it.
Writing is helping me get things off my chest.
Out of my head.
These posts are more of an exercise I have been challenged to do
but I also journal religiously almost every day, which I've found to be massively helpful.
There is something about pouring yourself out onto a page.
The release of whatever it is without worrying about anyone reading it.
The capture of a moment like a photograph.
I can revisit them it or not.
But this post that would have been today's, but isn't…
I'm glad that read it out to a friend.
It is funny and witty and a tad mean.
The thing about life is that sometimes you need to know when to shut the hell up.
And always remember in most situations or happenings,
It isn't about you.
It's almost always about that person's own crap, their own fears, their own short sidedness.
I say this a lot but it's true, the voice inside our head is an a-hole.
And we listen to that voice way too often.
I know this is a tease and maybe doesn't count as a post.
But I don't care, I'm allowed.
Have I become an adult? :)
And to that person, who hurt my feelings just a little.
I'm sending you a hug, with a slight kick in the ass.
Just listen to Elsa, she's got it right.
And turn it up loud and belt it out.
